About
Coast Line Transfers, LLC (CLT Marine), a dedicated service provider to the northeastern US's burgeoning offshore wind market, was established in 2019 as a spin-off from Boston Line & Service (BLS), a commercial marine service company with a rich history dating back to 1933 in the Port of Boston. We leverage this extensive expertise to create local service offerings that deliver substantial benefits to our customers.
Our commitment and capabilities in the offshore wind sector are exemplified by our initial work on the Vineyard Wind project. In November 2022, we proudly achieved the first crew transfer of the Vineyard Wind project—a significant milestone in the US offshore wind industry as the first industrial-scale offshore wind project in the country. Now, with thousands of transfers successfully completed for leading companies such as Prysmian, Jan De Nul, Van Oord, Boskalis and Michels, CLT Marine has established a proven track record and gained a deep understanding of the operational requirements and challenges of offshore wind projects in the US.
Furthermore, CLT Marine has demonstrated its ability to leverage local connections to meet project needs. In 2023, we retrofitted a charter fishing boat in New Bedford, MA, into a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) for the Vineyard Wind project. The vessel, equipped with a Buoyant Works fender, now performs crew changes to offshore wind vessels and the offshore installations during construction, showcasing an award-winning innovative solution that not only meets project requirements but also contributes to the local US supply chain.
As we look to the future, CLT Marine is poised for growth, with plans to expand our fleet and enhance our offshore and onshore logistics services. Our commitment to serving the offshore wind and marine industry on the east coast of the US remains unwavering, as we continue to innovate and adapt to the evolving needs of this dynamic sector.
